This is awesome, and it’s just how snakes climb on surfaces with textures like this. Brick walls are super easy to climb for snakes. They climb by holding on to imperfections in a wall’s surface, so the fall risk here is very minor, and they’ll be able to tell if the grooves aren’t deep enough to hold onto and get back to safety.
They can do this on walls with such minor grooves that it looks almost like they’re hanging on by magic! But you can see in the picture below that the snake’s body looks kinda squiggly, and that’s just the areas where their muscles are tensed as they’re holding on.
